D-Tech CompoFlo Universal Flowable Composite
Compoflo Universal is an advanced light-curing, high-viscosity flowable composite designed for superior strength, wear resistance, and excellent aesthetics. Its unique nano-filler technology combines the easy handling of a flowable composite with the final strength of a highly filled restorative, making it ideal for a wide range of dental restorative applications.
Features:
-
Higher strength than conventional flowable composites.
-
Highly resistant to wear with excellent polishability.
-
Handles like a high-viscosity flowable but cures with the strength of a filled composite.
-
BISGMA-free formulation for improved biocompatibility.
-
Non-slumping — stays where placed for precise contouring.
-
Provides beautiful, glossy aesthetic restorations.
-
Radiopaque for easy X-ray detection and monitoring.

Tooth Preparation:
- Clean the tooth surface thoroughly with pumice and water to remove any plaque, debris, or stains. Select the appropriate shade before beginning the restorative procedure.
- Prepare the cavity according to standard clinical protocols, ensuring the area is clean and dry. Use oil-free compressed air for gentle drying. For optimal isolation and to prevent contamination from saliva, blood, or sulcular fluid, it is recommended to use a rubber dam.
- Always follow fundamental principles of cavity preparation to protect the pulp, especially in deep cavities.
Etching & Bonding:
- Apply D-Tech Etching Gel to the enamel margins for 20–30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly with water and gently dry the area with oil-free air, avoiding over-drying. Apply the bonding agent as per the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring uniform coverage while avoiding desiccation of the prepared tooth surface.
Dispensing:
-
Choose the syringe with the required shade of Compo-Flo Universal.
-
Remove the cap and attach an angled luer-lock dispensing tip securely.
-
Position the tip as close as possible to the prepared cavity.
-
Slowly depress the plunger to dispense the material directly into the cavity. Alternatively, extrude the material onto a mixing pad and transfer it into the cavity using a suitable placement instrument.
Placement & Curing:
-
Place Compo-Flo Universal in increments not exceeding 2 mm to ensure complete curing.
-
Use a suitable light curing unit, positioning the light guide tip as close to the composite surface as possible.
-
Refer to the curing time chart for recommended exposure based on your light unit’s output intensity.
-
Important: Inadequate curing can cause discoloration and post-operative sensitivity. Regularly verify your curing light’s performance with a light intensity meter.
Finishing & Polishing:
- After curing, remove any excess material and contour the restoration as required. Finish and polish using standard finishing burs and polishing systems to achieve a smooth, natural-looking result.
- Offers strength comparable to highly filled universal composites — ensuring durable restorations.
- Smooth, non-slumping flow allows precise placement without running.
- Excellent wear resistance extends the longevity of restorations.
- High polishability provides natural-looking aesthetics and long-lasting gloss.
- Radiopacity aids in clear post-operative diagnostics.
- BISGMA-free formula supports patient safety and reduces potential sensitivities.
