Dialyzer

A dialyzer, also known as an artificial kidney or hemodialyzer, is a crucial medical device used in the process of hemodialysis. It is designed to filter and purify a patient's blood when their kidneys are unable to perform this function adequately. The dialyzer comprises thousands of tiny, hollow fibers that act as a semipermeable membrane, allowing waste products, excess fluids, and electrolytes to pass out of the blood while retaining essential substances. During dialysis, the patient's blood is pumped through the dialyzer, where it undergoes filtration and is returned to the body, helping to maintain proper fluid and electrolyte balance.
