Preparation:

• Ensure that the skin is clean and dry according to hospital protocols before applying Hold-A-Line.
• Important: Do not use alcohol for cleansing, as it may hinder adhesion.

Application:

• Actively warm the hydrocolloid adhesive by:Holding it between your palms for at least 60 seconds.
  
  • Holding it near a radiant warmer for 10-15 seconds.
  • Using a chemical heel warmer for 10-15 seconds.
  • Discard the white paper liner and then peel off the clear plastic liner from the hydrocolloid base.
• Apply the base to the clean, dry skin, press down firmly, and hold for 60 seconds to ensure proper adhesion.
• Peel and discard the frosted liner, then carefully adhere the catheter or tube onto the base.
• Fold the flap over the catheter or tube, align it with the base, and press firmly to secure it in place.
• The flap can be lifted as needed for repositioning or removal of the catheter or tubing.

Removal:

• Replace Hold-A-Line every 5 days or as specified by hospital protocol.
• Lift the flap to gently remove the catheter or tube.
• Moisten Hold-A-Line with water or saline to facilitate easier removal.
• Slowly peel Hold-A-Line away from the skin while swabbing the area with water or saline to minimize discomfort.
