Prepare the Device:
- Insert 2 "AAA" style batteries into the designated compartment.
- Choose the appropriate autoclavable light guide (2mm or 3mm) for the procedure.
Power On/Off:
- Slide the power switch to turn on the transilluminator.
- To power off, simply slide the switch back to the off position.
Positioning and Illumination:
- Place the light guide in proximity to the area of interest.
- Adjust the position until optimal illumination is achieved.
Diagnostic Procedures:
- For caries detection, direct the light onto anterior and posterior surfaces.
- To visualize crown fractures or root canal orifices, adjust the angle as needed.
- Use in oral cancer screening by systematically examining the oral cavity.
Autoclaving:
- If necessary, detach the light guide for autoclaving following manufacturer guidelines.
Optional Protective Sleeves:
- If using protective sleeves, ensure they are securely placed over the light guide.
Power Management:
- Monitor battery levels; replace batteries as needed for consistent performance.
Storage:
- Store the transilluminator in a cool, dry place when not in use, protecting it from potential damage.
