- Peel the NeoSeal from its plastic liner.
- Slip the NeoSeal over the nasal prongs with the adhesive side facing the cannula.Note: The soft, smooth side without adhesive should contact the patient's skin.
- Insert the nasal prongs according to hospital protocol. Document the placement of the NeoSeal in the patient's medical record.
- Note: Ensure that the nasal cannula prongs and/or NeoSeal do not enter the infant's mouth to minimize the risk of aspiration/ingestion.
- Replace the NeoSeal daily or as per hospital protocol, whichever is sooner.
- Note: Replace immediately if the device becomes soiled or wet.
- Document the removal and/or replacement of the NeoSeal in the patient's medical record.
