Ormco Enlight Light Cure Adhesive

Tooth Preparation

• Insert the lip/cheek retractor and saliva ejector. Clean the teeth thoroughly with pumice and water, then rinse with water while using a high-speed evacuation system. Dry the teeth with an air syringe.
• Apply the etchant solution to the bonding surfaces using applicator sponges. Gently dab the etchant—do not rub. Apply fresh solution continuously for 30 seconds for best results. Rinse thoroughly with a forceful air-water spray and suction using a high-speed evacuator. Keep the field dry; avoid rinsing or allowing contact with saliva or mucosal tissue.
• Dry the etched enamel with clean, dry air until it has a uniform, dull, frosty appearance.

Bonding Procedure

• Dispense a small amount of sealant onto a mixing pad. Apply the ortho solo sealant to the teeth with the provided brushes, ensuring a thin, even coating that extends from the gingival crest and covers all the etched enamel. Replace the cap immediately after dispensing.
• Apply a small amount of Enlight adhesive paste to the base of the bracket pad. Clean the tip and replace the cap after application.
• Place the bracket on the tooth surface immediately after applying the adhesive. Adjust to the final position and press firmly. Remove any excess adhesive from around the bracket base.
• Using Demetron's Optilux 501, cure the adhesive for 10 seconds for metal brackets and 5 seconds for ceramic brackets. For ceramic brackets, shine the light directly through the bracket. For metal brackets, divide the curing time and shine the light on the mesial and distal edges.
• Active archwires can be placed immediately after curing the final bracket.

Shelf Life and Storage

• Avoid exposing materials to intense light or high temperatures. Use Enlight at ambient temperature.

Caution

• Etching Solution: Contains 37% phosphoric acid. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and soft tissues. In case of contact, flush immediately with water and seek medical attention if needed. Do not ingest.
• Sealant and Paste: Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with oral tissues and skin. Wash skin with soap and water after contact. Uncured materials may cause contact dermatitis; discontinue use if irritation occurs. Use in a well-ventilated area and keep containers closed when not in use.
