Medicept SureSeal Root Canal Sealer
Medicept SureSeal Root Canal Sealer is a highly effective, eugenol-based endodontic cement designed for both primary and permanent teeth. Its dual-component formulation (powder and liquid) creates a durable, radiopaque sealer with excellent antimicrobial properties. The slight expansion upon setting ensures a secure seal, preventing bacterial ingress and reducing the risk of reinfection. Ideal for sealing debrided root canals and cementing Gutta Percha or silver points, it offers reliable, long-lasting results.
Features:
- Versatile Application: Suitable for both primary and permanent teeth.
- Dual-Component Formula:
- Powder: Contains zinc oxide, calcium phosphate, and barium sulfate.
- Liquid: Eugenol-based with antimicrobial and analgesic properties.
- Radiopaque: The presence of barium sulfate enhances visibility on X-rays for accurate follow-ups.
- Excellent Sealing Properties: Slight expansion upon setting creates a tight seal, preventing bacterial infiltration.
- Debridement Filling: Fills irregularities and gaps in debrided root canals, ensuring a smooth and sealed canal.
- Cementation Versatility: Suitable for cementing Gutta Percha or silver points during obturation.

Preparation:
- Clean and shape the root canal using standard endodontic procedures, ensuring it is free from debris and contaminants.
- Ensure that the canal is dry before proceeding with the cement application.
Mixing the Components:
- Measure the appropriate amount of Medicept SureSeal Root Canal Sealer powder and liquid using a suitable measuring device or scoop.
- Dispense the measured powder and liquid onto a cool, dry mixing pad.
Mixing the Cement:
- Use a suitable spatula to thoroughly mix the powder and liquid components. Continuously fold the materials together until a homogenous paste-like consistency is achieved.
- Ensure that there are no lumps or unmixed areas in the cement.
Application:
- Using an appropriate endodontic instrument or syringe, apply the mixed Medicept SureSeal Root Canal Sealer into the prepared root canal.
- Make sure to distribute the cement evenly throughout the canal to ensure a reliable and durable seal.
Cementation of Gutta Percha Points or Silver Points (if applicable):
- If using Medicept SureSeal Root Canal Sealer for the cementation of Gutta Percha or silver points, for their placement within the root canal.
Adjustment of Cement Viscosity:
- As needed, adjust the cement's viscosity by altering the powder-to-liquid ratio during mixing. This will allow you to adapt the cement to the specific technique required for the procedure.
Setting and Expansion:
- Medicept SureSeal Root Canal Sealer will slightly expand upon setting. This expansion helps to create a positive seal and prevent the entry of bacteria and fluids.
Follow-up Examinations:
- The presence of barium sulfate in the powder component provides radiopacity to the cement, allowing for easy and accurate follow-up examinations.
Cleaning and Finishing:
- After the cement has set, clean and finish the tooth's exterior as necessary, ensuring that any excess cement is removed.
Post-Treatment:
- Advise the patient on post-treatment care and follow any additional post-operative instructions as required.
- Reliable Seal: Slight expansion upon setting ensures a positive seal, preventing bacterial ingress.
- Radiopaque for Easy Follow-Up: The barium sulfate makes it visible on X-rays, facilitating accurate monitoring.
- Antimicrobial and Analgesic Effects: Eugenol helps disinfect and soothes surrounding tissues.
- Versatile Usage: Suitable for root canal obturation, filling gaps, and cementing points.
- Customizable Viscosity: Allows the clinician to adjust the consistency for different techniques.
- Reduced Infection Risk: Provides a smooth, sealed canal that minimizes the risk of reinfection.
- Biocompatible: Gentle on surrounding tissues, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Durability: Long-lasting performance for effective root canal sealing.
